Simon's sitting cross-legged on the edge of the bed, with Kaylee's feet (in warm fuzzy socks) in his lap.
He's grinning.
"And we drove back to the Abbey in complete silence."

The grin's back, with laughter hovering around the edges.
"But I haven't told you the epilogue yet."

And now she settles back in the pillows, still laughing. "Can't believe there's more to it."

He reaches for the closer of the two glasses of lemonade on the bed-tray, and takes a sip.
Storytelling is thirsty work, after all.

He sets down the glass, and looks at her sidelong.
"Remember the buffet table?"

He gestures illustratively.
"Domed silver cover, very elegant. And Wash took off the cover to see what was there, and ..."
