It's a fine evening in early spring in Logan City; the first really nice weather of the season, with the sun lingering above the horizon well after the office closes. Simon's carrying his winter coat over one arm as he steps into the house and sets down his briefcase. He doesn't call out; even at this hour, it's probably not a good idea to make too much noise until he's sure he wouldn't wake anybody.

He's got two guesses as to where he might find Kaylee, and because of the weather he's going to check the sunroom and/or backyard first.

She nods a little. "Good. Yeah."

He turns his head enough to kiss her temple.

"Love you, xin gan."

A very small smile. "Is that making it up to me?"

[simon_doctor]

"No, that's just a general statement. Should I start listing the ways I could make it up to you?"

[gonna_live]

"...sure," she decides.

[simon_doctor]

The swing rocks gently, almost silently.

"I was thinking about ice cream sundaes," he muses. "Or footrubs. Or flowers. Just as a starting point, you understand."

"The first two sound pretty good."

[simon_doctor]

"There could be both." Smiling. "Footrubs I can do at a moment's notice; sundaes will take a little longer."

[gonna_live]

"Remind me why we don't just keep that stuff on hand?"

[simon_doctor]

"Because we always forget to restock it?" Slightly sheepishly. "I could message the grocery downtown, though, see if they'll deliver at this hour."

[gonna_live]

"If you want." She settles her chin on his shoulder. "This's nice, though."

[simon_doctor]

"Mmm." He rubs her shoulder lightly. "I wouldn't mind just this for a while."

[gonna_live]

"...and I can nap."

[simon_doctor]

"You can nap," he agrees cheerfully. "And if you fall asleep completely, I can carry you upstairs."

"I'll get woke up soon enough." Wry.
