Change of Plans

Serenity's business is a cargo drop on Lear, a small moon that shares a primary with Three Hills; the original plan was for the entire crew to spend a night visiting the Fryes, either on the way there or on the way back.
The wave they've just received may change that. There's a settlement on Three Hills, not very far from Jefferson, that's been asking about the traveling doctor.
When Simon brings the news to Kaylee (who's working through dinner again) along with a covered plate, Kaylee looks first delighted, and then immediately smug.
"That means," she says, satisfied, "I get to fly."
